The Prince’s Trust Future Steps Challenge – February 2021

Dear all,

Time to get your steps going … or so to speak … 😉

DDCAP will participate this year in The Prince’s Trust Future Steps Challenge… a great way to get active and raise money for an important cause by competing with colleagues and other teams across the country to reach 10,000 steps a day during the month of February (even with the current restrictions!).

Teams are made up of 6 people so you and five others from DDCAP will compete together for steps and fundraising. Each team of six will have a fundraising target of £250 to raise money for the vital work of the Trust.

Future Steps is administered through the Trust’s Future Steps App which will track your steps and your fundraising. The app is available on both Apple and Android platforms and will link through to the JustGiving page to make fundraising simple. A live leader board in the App tracks both the steps and the fundraising for individuals and teams.

Steps can be entered manually, taken from a smart phone app or linked to other tracking devices, such as a FitBit. The App also provides a way to convert cycling and running activities into steps.

Now we know that with the current climate and government guidelines “10k a day” in February may seem unachievable but never fear…we have come up with a handy Conversion Table! Attached and taken from reliable online sources, the table sets out the step equivalent for everyday tasks/ home workout activities.

Throughout the month of February, the CSR team will be organising a series of virtual sessions that you will be invited to attend, this will allow you to connect with colleagues whilst increasing your step count (without leaving the comfort of your own home, of course!).

Please kindly let Jennifer, Natalie or myself know If you would be interested in this fun initiative by 12noon on Thursday 28th January 2021.

Kind regards
Grace
