I write to you as Company Secretary and on behalf of the Directors, following our previous update on 10th May, concerning the ongoing actions and initiatives taken by government to address the implications of COVID-19 in the UK and also, now, to ease restrictions and restart our economy.
As before, DDCAP Group will continue to adhere to the stipulations of the British government and the authorities relevant to our overseas offices. These are under continual review by our Executive Directors as we consider the ongoing implications of COVID-19 and its impacts upon our business and for our working environment.
Current advice in England remains that those that are able to work from home should continue to do so, where possible. In Malaysia the MCO, restricting movements and activities, will stay in place until 9th June. However we have been notified this week by the relevant authorities that the Dubai International Financial Centre will re-open its offices and facilities from this Sunday, with firms required to operate in office with a maximum of 50%of total headcount.
In preparation for any move back to office based working practices, our Group will be conducting its own preparations locally which includes, but is not limited to, evaluation of working practices and associated risks and filing reports with local authorities, as required.
Wherever you are located and working, we will continue to progress with our return to the workplace strategy and planning with full consideration for the well-being of our Group staff. We will also proceed with due respect for the current uncertainty of outcomes of the actions taken by governments to exit our various stages of national lock-down, wherever we may be.
As a result, personnel within all Group offices will be asked to continue to work remotely until 12th June 2020. Again, there is no inference by this that we intend to return to the office immediately thereafter. That decision will be driven by our Group policies as well as being dependent upon updated local government advice, local market practices and individual country circumstances. Meanwhile we remain in regular contact about this with our Regional Office Heads in Dubai and Kuala Lumpur, Cassim Docrat and Roslan Ahmed.
We look forward to updating you in due course. In the meantime we wish you all a very pleasant weekend and please continue to stay safe.
For and on behalf of the DDCAP Group™ Directors
